Be Part of Something Special

People are at the heart of everything we do at St Andrew’s Hospice. There are a lot of myths about what it is like to work at a hospice, but our incredible staff, volunteers and supporters go above and beyond to create an environment full of laughter, fun and vibrancy.

Working for St Andrew’s Hospice truly is a rewarding experience, helping people live their lives to the fullest by making each day count. We want our nurses to be compassionate, our fundraisers to be creative and our shop managers to be dynamic.

From your first day with us, you will be part of a strong supportive family. We will help you settle in with a comprehensive induction, putting your health and wellbeing high on our agenda and striving to make St Andrew’s Hospice an Employer of Choice.

Career Opportunities

St Andrew’s Hospice is an extraordinary place to work. We are immensely proud of our staff and volunteers, who make a significant difference to the lives of our patients and their families every single day.

Volunteering

Our volunteers are an essential part of the St Andrew’s Hospice team. Their hard work and dedication mean we can continue providing high quality care to our patients and families.

Whether you’d like to share your skills and experience with others, learn something new, give back to the community or just make new friends, we have the right role for you.

We support our staff and volunteers to continue their professional development whilst in their role. This includes fulfilment of statutory and mandatory training, extensive education training programmes delivered by a dedicated team, study leave and financial assistant for relevant education, training and development and progression opportunities.

We host a number of student placements in our clinical settings, and are currently also rolling apprenticeships out in clinical, non-clinical and our retail shops. We recognise the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy, offering the chance to gain a qualification and hands-on experience in a vital industry while also earning a wage.
