Adult Inpatient Unit

The Adult Inpatient Unit at St Andrew’s Hospice provides free care to anyone over the age of 18 who is living in North East Lincolnshire and has a life-limiting condition.

Our professional team works 24-hours-a-day to deliver expert services including rehabilitation, respite, symptom control and end-of-life care. As well as medical care, we provide vital emotional support for both our patients and their families, including children.

St Andrew’s Hospice welcomes everyone, regardless of their age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disabilities, or diagnosis. Our compassionate team will always respect your culture and beliefs, as well as your personal, physical, and emotional needs.

As one of our patients, we will prioritise your right to privacy in relation to your own space, your belongings, and your financial affairs.

Our inpatient unit has 12 single en-suite rooms designed to feel like home, with modern decorations and views of our beautifully kept gardens. Your room will contain a television, radio, fridge, hot drink facilities, and a personal safe. We want you to feel like your room is yours during your stay, so we are happy for you to bring small personal items such as family photo frames, which may help you feel more relaxed.

There is a day bed available for relatives who wish to stay overnight and a visitor area, separate from the patient rooms, for some extra space or to make food. All our rooms are equipped with high-standard medical equipment including electric profiling beds, pressure-relieving mattresses, and piped oxygen. A nurse-call system is in place, and our dedicated care team are constantly close by.

Family and friends are always welcome at St Andrew’s, and you can visit around the clock. Some relatives may choose to stay with you overnight, and we are happy to set them up with a bed in your room. Children are welcome to visit, provided they are supervised by an adult at all times. Many patients like to have pets come and see them, which simply requires prior agreement from a member of the clinical team. Pets cannot be left unattended.

Anyone can make a referral to our services, including, the patient, their family, a GP, a community nurse, or a consultant. Referrals can be made in person, by telephoning 01472 350908, or via the link below.
